In Sengoku Asuka ZERO, the Regent is the player character.
Story
The player character becomes Regent of the Aoba clan through marriage to Sakihime after her mother, Kuninaga, is captured by the Kokujo clan after a raid destroys Aoba's castle.
Regent level
The Regent's level increases as the player progresses through various content of the game. Reaching certain levels can unlock additional game features. The Regent's level also serves as a level cap for his or her warriors.
Envoy
The Regent's envoy is a warrior sent out whenever a player answers an aid request. That warrior's portrait also becomes the player's portrait.
