A maiden of peerless beauty who lived during the Genpei War (1180-85). Due to an ongoing drought, the Emperor called a hundred shirabyōshi to dance for rain. All of them failed, except for the very last - Shizuka. As she danced in the rain, she stole the heart of the young Yoshitsune with her otherworldly beauty.
