Naoe Kanetsugu, if she had supported Kagetora's claim to rule in the Uesugi succession struggle instead of her mistress Kagekatsu. Kagetora's doomed struggle soon met its end, and Kanetsugu attempted to retake her place by her Lady's side; but she had already lost Kagekatsu's trust, and her love. Now she strides the battlefield, her mistake heavier than her armor and her loss sharper than her blade, seeking only an end to her suffering.
